A company called Allbrooks was started by a Mr. Ray Cook in 1959. It was created with a specific purpose, to manufacture a superior range of stand dryers and blasters for professional and keen amateur dog groomers and exhibitors.

It succeeded in it’s original purpose and the Allbrooks Tornado Dryers are respected throughout Europe and beyond as a superior range of quality dryers.

Over the years Allbrooks broadened its product base: clippers, blades, scissors tables etc and went through many changes of management until in December 1998 after a management buyout it went into voluntary liquidation. The owners of Oakenshaw Grange had always had great respect for the Allbrooks Tornado dryers and could think of no other dryer that offered such quality to offer it’s customers if the Allbrooks Tornado was no longer to be available. They felt that if the dryer manufacturing side of the business could be saved and Allbrooks once more went back to it’s basics, the manufacturing of quality dryers and blasters, it could once again be a success and they could save the Tornado dryer for their customers. So that’s how it was that in January 1999 Oakenshaw & Allbrooks (Or O&A as it is becoming to be known) was born. Allbrooks concentrates purely on manufacture and O&A takes care of the marketing and sales.
