ProGroom is a company created by Anna Thorpe after Allbrooks
Grooming Products Ltd went into voluntary liquidation in 1998. She
had been involved in the marketing of dog grooming products over
the years with a number of companies selling grooming equipment
and materials. Using
her experiences and contacts she set up what she thought would be
a small company supplying the more specialised and high quality
items for the more discerning customer.

To her amazement she found that
there was a big demand for her products and that a lot of the more
experienced exhibitors and professional groomers knew what they
wanted and didn’t mind paying for the quality items ProGroom was
offering.

Her business grew until it was
more than she could handle by herself; trying to man her stand at
championship shows and running the ever growing mail order and
telephone sales. In the end in spite of taking on several
employees the business was taking over her life and she felt she
was no longer able to offer the quality service ProGroom customers
demanded.

She looked around for a suitable
buyer who she felt would uphold the high standards and personal
approach of ProGroom and yet have the organisational structure to
handle the growing number of clients and their ever increasing
orders.
The Oakenshaw Grange Group of
Companies was her obvious choice and early in 2000 she sold
ProGroom to the Oakenshaw Grange group.

ProGroom customers can still get the goods and services they have
become accustomed to by calling the old Progroom number when their
calls are automatically transferred to the O&A sales staff but
they can also call direct on the O&A number 01924 863795 but do
tell them you are a ProGroom customer. You can of course choose
from the full O&A range as well as the ProGroom range. |
